The Tap Deck Bar & Billiards in Frederiksted opened for business on October 5, just two weeks after Maria. They were able to put all of their pre-storm staff back to work — and they were able to hire four new people too! Their second-story location did sustain some damage. One layer of their roof peeled back allowing for some minor water intrusion. They consider themselves lucky. We consider them yet another story of resilience on St. Croix.

Tap Deck is serving their full menu, which includes a cheese selection, house-cured meats, dips, salads and fondue, plus some delicious sounding specials that you can find on their Facebook page. They also have plenty of beer — on tap and in bottles — as well as wine and specialty cocktails. Tap Deck can accept credit cards and (drumroll…) they have A/C!

On days when cruise ships are docked at the Frederiksted Pier, Tap Deck will be open at 9am. Otherwise, they will be open for lunch and dinner, starting at 11am with closing time dependent on curfew.

When asked for an outlook for the coming season, Tap Deck’s owner, Emily, says:

“The business community of St Croix has a lot of grit–from shops to restaurants, and have worked extremely hard to reopen as quickly as possible. I’m very impressed! We’re looking forward to welcoming tourists back! We miss them!
