The Caribbean Sea Adventures crew is all safe and ready to sail you to Buck Island. As a matter of fact, they resumed daily beach-only Buck Island trips just this last Friday, October 13! (Update: on Friday, as they were about the depart, the National Parks Service closed Buck Island, but Caribbean Sea Adventures decided to still take to the waters to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean.)
Hurricane Maria overtook one of their fleet of six boats. Trine, a 32 ft. sailboat, was one of their favorites, but they’re grateful that they still have five boats in their Caribbean Sea fleet.
Captain Matt says Turtle Beach on Buck Island looks good and has plenty of sand. He’s looking forward to sailing locals, tourists and relief workers over for some much-needed sea and sand. The underwater snorkel trail is not open yet, but the Caribbean Sea Adventures crew believes that once it re-opens, they will be fully up and running all of their tours.

Caribbean Sea Adventures is optimistic about St. Croix’s coming season. “We think St. Croix will be ready in November. The Swim Race will be at The Buccaneer the first weekend of November and a few weeks later the first Art Thursday of the season, and then Thanksgiving Jump Up. We are seeing many businesses in Christiansted already open – restaurants and retail shops. We are confident for a good season in St. Croix.”

Caribbean Sea Adventures played a vital role in relief efforts to other Caribbean islands after Hurricane Irma. They spearheaded an effort that so far has resulted in more than $240,000 raised in support of our sister islands, numerous boat trips delivering supplies, and countless volunteers lending a hand. Hurricane Maria put a brief hold on their relief efforts as they focused on St. Croix, but they began relief trips again last week. We are amazed by their selfless efforts.
Their advice for people considering a visit to St. Croix this winter: For those not staying at a hotel, we would recommend they check with their vacation rental to confirm that they have power.
